1.Understand what constitutes child maltreatment and be able to identify signs and symptoms of a child who may be subjected abuse or neglect.
2.Examine how risk factors, including parent's mental and physical well-being, make maltreatment children vulnerable to abuse .
3.Be able to act as an effective advocate for a child or young person. Be clear about your own and colleague's roles, responsibilities and professional boundaries and remit.
4.Draw on child and family-focused clinical and professional knowledge and expertise of what constitutes child maltreatment, to identify signs of sexual, physical, or emotional abuse or neglect.
