THANK YOU!
.Work related violence is a complex risk to manage because of the many factors that can contribute to escalation and possibly physical assault.
.Some of these factors can be controlled with appropriate conflict management and handling violence and aggression training.
.However, there are circumstances where de-escalating a situation just isn't enough and requires physical intervention to control a potentially dangerous situation, imposing risks to service users and staff.
.The purpose of this policy is to provide guidance to health and social care staff on the prevention of violence, threats of violence/ aggression and how to deal with such incidents.
.Further training may be required in the practical skills on effective physical restraining of aggressors, where a potentially dangerous situation arises.
